At this time of year, we are often in the presence of family and friends that our children are not used to seeing. We want them to love these people as much as we do, but we also need to respect that their bodies are their own and they have every right to say no to hugs and physical touch of any kind. It doesnt mean your child is rude or bad or wrong in any way. It means they know their own body and their own comfort level. And thats something amazing.
