At tonights puppy class, I discussed the importance of doing regular body handling with our puppies/dogs and how to desensitize and counter condition if they are fearful and reactive to a certain body part being handled. This brought up the subject of nail clipping. This video that Kelly Cottrell created is one I send to a lot of clients and is the exact method I used to shift my 100lb fighting with all her might not to have her toe nails clipped Great Dane, Lily, to a dog who now holds up her paw at the end of toe nail clipping as if to say Im sure you can find another nail to clip Mom, cause theres more chicken in that bowl! https://youtube/watch?v=G3MFEbkcvYg
