At work last night I received a booklet on the word of god in my check presenter along with my tip. I was deeply offended. If youre someone who does this, just stop. Your server doesnt want to, or should have to be, religiously solicited at work. Who are you to assume that I dont already have my own beliefs and that I want to read about yours? I doubt you want to read about mine. I doubt you want to read that the christian god...your god that I was taught to believe in while I was young, got me nowhere. I doubt you want to read that I didnt grow spiritually, personally, or intellectually until I abandoned your christian god in my early teens (probably sooner). I am my own god. I am on my own path. Its a path that has been filled with spiritual enlightenment and joy. Its been filled with forgiveness and growth. Ive seen and felt the most amazing things that I only wish you could experience. Things that I know youll never see or experience with those narrow minded views. I dont condemn you for your beliefs, I shouldnt have to feel condemned for mine. Im sorry that my excellent and friendly service made you feel like I needed the word of god, I obviously dont.
