Attended Celebration Church (non-ecumenical) in Cambier Park today. Pastor Gene Scott delivered a sermon that really hit home! I love this church as not only are DOGS allowed, the message always applies to my life in some fashion. Messages are comprehensive, concise, & meaningful. I absolutely learned lessons this morning and will strive to oblige. Today he talked about how to keep the crazymakers from making us crazy. First he defined 6 types: Demanding, Disapproving, Deafening, Destructive, Discontented, Demeaning... REFUSE TO BE OFFENDED - WHEN A FOOL IS ANNOYED, HE QUICKLY LETS IT BE KNOWN. WISE PEOPLE WILL IGNORE AN INSULT. DONT WAIT FOR AN APOLOGY TO FORGIVE HIM/HER - YOU MUST MAKE ALLOWANCE FOR EACH OTHERS FAULTS & FORGIVE THE PERSON WHO OFFENDS YOU. REFUSE TO GOSSIP ABOUT THEM - DO NOT DO WRONG TO REPAY A WRONG, & DO NOT INSULT TO REPAY AN INSULT. JUST WALK ON... REFUSE TO PLAY THEIR GAME - JUST AS CHARCOAL & WOOD KEEP A FIRE GOING, A QUARRELSOME PERSON KEEPS AN ARGUMENT GOING. FORGIVENESS IS INSTANT; TRUST IS EARNED!! MOVE AWAY... REFUSE TO CAVE IN - DO NOT ALLOW WHAT YOU CONSIDER GOOD TO BE SPOKEN AS EVIL. SO STAND STRONG...IGNORE THEM! ALWAYS TAKE THE HIGH GROUND! - DO NOT BE OVERCOME BY EVIL, BUT OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD.
