KCAD has been selected as a finalist to host the Pablove Shutterbugs program as a part of the LIVESTRONG© Community Impact Project, which was created to bring proven cancer support programs to communities across the U.S. But in order for us to bring this incredible program to West Michigan, we need your help rocking the online vote that will determine who gets to host! Here’s everything you need to know: What is Pablove Shutterbugs? The signature arts program of The Pablove Foundation, the Shutterbugs program introduces children living with cancer to the art of photography in order to increase their sense of joy, encourage their creative thinking, foster their self-esteem, and develop their independence. Guided by trained professional photography mentors, the children work hands-on to learn the principles and techniques of photography. Why should KCAD get involved? This would be a tremendous opportunity for anyone in the KCAD community interested in photography to partner with organizations like DeVos Children’s Hospital to make a HUGE difference in the lives of brave children suffering from cancer. If KCAD wins the right to host the program, LIVESTRONG© will provide financial support and all the resources necessary to train volunteers to be teachers and mentors in the program. How can YOU get involved? Rock the vote! There are three ways to vote (Facebook, Twitter, email), and you can vote once time per method, per person, so be sure to make all three of your votes count. To vote for KCAD, go to vote.livestrong.org/applicant/100-kendall_co/ and follow the instructions.
