Heres why : You may be aware of the new law coming into place on 1st January 2015 which means that anyone selling digital products (for example, music downloads) within the EU MUST be registered for VAT not just in their own country but in each country that they sell to - even if it is just ONE download! Weve only become aware of these changes within the past few days and we dont fully understand the implications yet but what it means is that until further notice, we are going to have to remove our entire digital catalogue from sale on our Bandcamp page as of January 1st. We are not VAT registered - we dont make a lot of money, the money we make from selling our music on Bandcamp is a main source of income to us and allows us to continue as a band, helping us to pay for essential things like a place to rehearse. There are two petitions you can sign to try and help small businesses like ours.
