Attention: Very Important Announcement... There will be articles written for major publications that will attempt to taint the Chiropractic Profession. The latest is Forbes, with a few other magazines and newspapers to follow suit. This happens every so often, like clock work. These articles will focus on stroke and fraud. First: I have written about the stroke issue, and it is a non-issue, more people have strokes going to their MD for an office visit. Second: Fraud, as we have all seen, since Medicare is posting to the public how much each doctor is collecting from Medicare things will be interesting. Chiropractors in general see less than 3 percent of the general population. Chiropractors see less than 1 percent of Medicare patients. To say that Chiropractic Profession is ripping off the system is unreasonable assertion. Look at the two stats I posted, we dont see that many patients to make even in a dent. Fraud is with every profession - unfortunately. And there is no doubt that there has been fraud that some (not all) chiropractors have been involved. So why the articles, why now, why do they always come out with multiple articles across the nation? Simply, money. There are groups that attack anything that is not Medicine. They make a big splash, get donations and then go back into obscurity. Then repeat... Why, has the Chiropractic profession not stopped these attacks if they were not true? The Chiropractic profession is weak in numbers, political influence, and weak in numbers of doctors. (There is less than 40 thousand Chiros in America). Chiropractic does not have the muscle to fight back, it never has. The ONLY thing that keeps Chiropractic alive is our Patients and the RESULTS they have gained when other methods FAILED. What to do? Nothing. Except, think. Folks are smart enough to realize what a smear campaign looks like, I am just letting you know that the smear has started... Have a great Monday and to my detractors (FUVM).
