August 18, 2013 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to express appreciation for wonderful service and friendliness I received 8/18/2013 at the Fatz Café in Boiling Springs, SC. My server: Dakota Dakota is an asset and I hope you know how very fortunate Fatz’s is to have this gentleman working for your restaurant. I always enjoy the food at Fatz and the service is always wonderful but today Dakota made my visit exceptional. My normal selection at Fatz is a Reuben, salad and tea; however, today (on this day Sunday), Dakota made me feel as I was a special guest sharing a meal at his home. All the staff greeted me and other guests (as they normally have done.) This is normal in today’s customer service world and it yes it is nice, expected and yes appreciated. Dakota extra spark of humanity that told me he was sincere – real. I think he was himself and he would be as courteous as he was Sunday. He was sincere, he wanted me to enjoy my meal, he made suggestions but he was not intrusive. I usually find social situations awkward but Dakota friendliness made me feel like a welcome guest. I work in the customer service world so know about lip service and sincerity. I feel customers enjoy coming to my place of business because I show an interest in them. Sometime it might be 5 minutes only but in those five minutes they have my full attention. I felt that I spent 30 minutes at a friend’s house on a Sunday. Thank you Dakota and thank you Jan-Erik, Manager (although, honestly I thought his name was John.) I never stayed long enough for dessert before and Dakota talked me into having Fatz’ Peach Cobbler, it was awesome! This will not be last visit. I will not end this letter without expressing that Fatz (1925 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg) service is always fantastic and the food great too. Fatz, please except my sincere appreciation but it is my hope servers, all over the world that guest show their appreciation in very generous tips. Dakota, I wish you much success in life.
