August 24, 2014 Gaza Report and Sunday Prayer Points Hamas continues to fire rockets into Israel towns and cities. More than 100 projectiles from Gaza were fired at Israel on Saturday. Many of the residents in the small villages have left for safer places until the end of the conflict. Israel destroyed 17 targets killing 3 terrorists and has informed Hamas that any building serving as a launching area will be considered a military target. Last night rockets were fired from a medical center in Gaza. Also on Saturday, 5 rockets were fired into Israel’s Golan Heights from Syria, and a rocket was fired from Lebanon into Israel’s coastal area hitting an empty house. Israel refrained from firing back, opting to allow UNIFIL, UN peacekeepers (so-called), to examine the incident but said, next time it will return fire. (I use the term ‘so-called’ because under UNIFIL’s watch in Lebanon, Hezbollah was able to double its armament after the war with Israel in July of 2006, the UN has brought anything but peace to the region) PLEASE ADD THESE POINTS TO YOUR SUNDAY PRAYER LIST -- Comfort for the family of 4-year-old, Daniel Tregerman, buried today -- Safety for the families in Gaza who want nothing of this war with Israel -- A shift in anti-Israel sentiment worldwide -- Wisdom for Israel’s leaders to know how to end the violence of Hamas -- Confusion in the war rooms of Israel’s enemies -- Christians suffering today at the hands of Islamic jihadists -- MTI’s work in helping Jews home from the Ukraine & other countries of the world -- Pray for the Prince of Peace to come and take His place in Jerusalem Other News: Iran Missiles Iran announced it has produced a new generation of short-range marine missiles and aerial drones, the official IRNA news agency reported Sunday. The report said the Ghadir missile, with a range of 100 kilometers (62 miles), is designed to destroy marine targets. It did not give a range for the Nasr-e Basir cruise missile, but said it could operate in silence, without elaborating. Iran, at the same time, unveiled two new drones; the high-altitude Karrar-4 and the Mohajer-4. The latter can be used to generate maps for both military and civilian purposes, IRNA said. Iran also has surface-to-surface missiles with a range of about 2,000 kilometers (1,250 miles), enough to reach Israel and US military bases in the region. Russian News Source
