August 3, 2014: Have we settled into August? I have to remember not to put July on each post ;) A fairly quiet Monday/Tuesday is on tap for our region. Temperatures will be near normal to slightly above normal. I will go with mostly sunny on Monday. Cant rule out some clouds. Seems to be the case over the past few weeks. Believe Tuesday has a better chance for some increasing clouds from the northwest. Our next shot at rain arrives Wednesday into Wednesday night. Then another shot on Friday. Storms will be moving from northwest to southeast. Locally heavy rain will be possible as a complex or two of thunderstorms roll through the region. Time to do your rain dance. Forecast details... Sunday night - A few clouds. Low temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Calm winds. Patchy fog possible. Monday - Mostly sunny. High temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Light and variable winds. Monday night - Mostly clear sky conditions. Low temperatures in the lower to middle 60s. Calm winds. Tuesday - A mix of sun and clouds. High temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. West/southwest winds at 5-15 mph. Tuesday night - Partly cloudy. Low temperatures in the upper 60s. Winds becoming calm. Wednesday - Increasing clouds with a chance for showers and thunderstorms. A few pockets of heavy rain possible. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s. West/southwest winds at 10 mph. Gusty near thunderstorms. Wednesday night - A chance for scattered thunderstorms. Low temperatures in the upper 60s. West winds at 5-10 mph. Leaning towards Saturday and Sunday being mostly dry. Perhaps rain into Friday night/Saturday morning? We will see. A bit messy on the extended forecast. Lower than normal confidence.
