Australian Federal Election 2013 As a minister of the Word of God - TopicsExpress

Australian Federal Election 2013 As a minister of the Word of God I don’t believe in telling people how to vote. I believe my role is to ask people to pray about who God wants them to vote for. We are very blessed to live in a place and time where we get to vote for our political leadership. We need to be spiritually responsible about this as it affects all our lives in Australia and even the lives of others overseas. I believe that people are more important than anything else. Policies that promote the wellbeing, the quality of life of the people of Australia are what should be the priority of politicians and the electorate. We should be putting the education, health and living standards of all Australians including future generations to the top of our list when we decide who we will vote for. These are moral choices that deserve careful and prayerful consideration. I have listened to the policies and talk from various parties and politicians and also feedback from the electorate and I feel that many people are responding to the politicians based on what is in their heart rather than what is the best policy. No one is perfect; I’m not so I don’t expect a politician or a political party to be perfect. It doesn’t work like that. However I look for politicians who will promote Biblical values through their policies. I am looking for truth in politics and the commentary on it because Jesus says in Matthew 12:37 “For by your words you will be justified, and by your word you will be condemned.” I am looking for the love of neighbours and fairness and just scales in taxation and not always finding it. I am looking for pro-life policies for the whole of life not just in pregnancy. The Bible doesn’t support gay marriage (1 Cor 6:9) and I read that the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Tim 6:10). Take the time to hear from God and make a God informed choice when you vote. God Bess, Michael
