Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FIRE WEATHER WARNING for the Channel Country, Maranoa and Warrego and parts of the Northwest, Central West and Darling Downs districts. Issued at 4:31am EST on Tuesday the 1st of October 2013 for today. A cold front is currently approaching far southwestern Queensland and will move rapidly eastwards to extend from Mount Isa to Ipswich by late evening. Hot, dry, strong and gusty north to northwesterly winds to the east of the trough and warm, dry, strong and gusty winds to the west of the trough are expected to cause the following conditions on today: Severe fire danger in the Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts, the Northwest district south of about Mount Isa, the Central West district southwest of about Longreach and the Darling Downs district west of about Dalby. Temperatures ranging from 33 degrees to 40 degrees, relative humidity to 15% and winds to 50 km/h are expected. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service Queensland advises that fires will be uncontrollable and fast-moving. The next warning will be issued by 11 am.
