Australian bike Expo was a pretty big deal for all things KE175. Totally worth the $6,000 it cost me to set up the trade stall. The stall itself was a hit and really had a great swingers party vibe that I was going for, particularly helped along with the calibre of sketchy characters we had hanging around. An estimated 50,000 people attended the event and I estimate 75,000 enquiries into why I set up a dedicated KE175 trade stall as at least half asked twice. To show of the KE’s range of talents an extreme enduro circuit was set up for demos. It featured and extreme log section, extreme drop off and an expert only “extreme” extreme section. For a small appearance fee (half the total stall costs) Gavin “Rapes” Raper (aka Grrrrrr) was on standby with burnouts on the hour and random valve bouncing sessions when the vibe started to dip. Soundtracks for the stall was Frogstomp by Silverchair. Next year we will try to mix it up as everyone complained about sore necks for days afterwards from all the head-banging. Unfortunately my KE175 didn’t sell. I had $500 on it but the only legitimate buyer (his final offer was $900) I had to refuse as he needed a bike to throw into his “mega bike crusher” side show. I was concerned the KE175 wasn’t appropriate as it’s tough as shit and might ruin his equipment.
