Australia’s rice production is expected to reach about 730,000 tons in MY 2013-14 (May – April), down about 13% from about 835,000 tons produced in the previous year, according to the USDA Post. Rice consumption in the country is estimated at about 350,000 tons in MY 2013-14 and rice export is expected to reach about 520,000 tons of rice in MY 2013-14, up about 4% from about 500,000 tons of rice exports in the previous year.
