Authorities are looking for a missing 14-year-old and requesting the public’s assistance to find him. Imperial police were first notified at 7 a.m. Saturday that a juvenile was missing and learned that he left his home sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday. There’s reason to believe the juvenile could intend to harm himself and may be in possession of a small caliber rifle. The missing juvenile is David Yglesias, 14, and he is described as having collar-length brown hair, brown eyes, is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs between 110 and 120 pounds with a slim build. He was last known to be wearing blue jeans with an unknown type shirt and no shoes. Imperial Police are coordinating a search with assistance from the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Border Patrol agents including its BORSTAR team and canine units, REACH Air Ambulance and Imperial Irrigation District. He was last known to be on foot in a large rural area east of the Sunset Ranch Division. Police have stated that Yglesias poses no threat to others, but will nonetheless provide extra patrols to all area schools tomorrow. If anyone sees him, do not approach him and call 911. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Imperial Police Department at 760-355-1158.
