B.C. South Peace River 3:46 PM PDT Tuesday 25 June 2013 Rainfall warning for B.C. South Peace River continued Local rainfall amounts up to 60 mm expected by Thursday morning. This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements. A broad upper trough will direct a moist easterly flow of air onto the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains over the next few days. Over the B.C. Peace River district, rain will begin tonight and continue through Wednesday night. Rainfall amounts up to 60 mm can be expected by Thursday morning before the rain tapers to showers. Additionally, thunderstorms embedded in the flow may also contribute to localized heavy rainfall. Over the South Peace River region, the heaviest rainfall amounts will occur over northeastern sections near Dawson Creek.
