BAGHDAD / NINA / President Fuad Masum stressed the need to strengthen relations with Pakistan at all levels. A statement for the presidency said President Masum received Pakistani Ambassador in Baghdad, Mohammad Iftikhar Anjum, and stressed the depth of bilateral relations and the need for strengthen them on political, economic and military levels. For his part, the Pakistani Ambassador confirmed that the relations combine Iraq and Pakistan have deep roots in the areas of economic, cultural and military as well as religious tourism, explaining that many Pakistanis are currently studying in the city of Najaf, in addition to the tourists who come to Iraq to visit shrines and holy sites, and the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Kilani. Meanwhile, the ambassador briefed President Masum on his visit to the city of Sulaymaniyah and meeting with officials there and brief him on the urban development and service in the city. He said: “We agreed to organize mutual visits to strengthen cooperation with Iraq including the Kurdistan region, and we will work to strengthen this communication service to the interests of the two friendly peoples” .
