BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE: Sat 13th Sept, 2014 This seasons EPL should be an interesting one with the increased unpredictability of results and scores. Liverpool are the latest victims of that unpredictable feat, after their shocking one nil home defeat to Aston Villa. Gabriel Agbonlahor scored the only goal at Anfield in barely nine minutes into play. Philippe Senderos got in front of Dejan Lovren to meet Ashley Westwood’s corner, Agbonlahor pounced in the six-yard box to poke the ball home. Liverpool pushed and gave it all, up till the last minute, in search of the crucial equaliser but to no avail. Villa dugged deep and defended superbly to secure the all the whole three points. It seems, the Paul Lambert, Roy Keane combination is paying dividends in this early stages. There team is still unbeaten and now sitting second in the table two points behind early pace setters Chelsea, they were once again emphatic winners against Swansea City, who took an early one goal cushion in the game at Stamford Bridge, after John Terrys own goal gave them the lead, but Chelsea are increasingly looking like champions and once again managed to claw themselves back into game and won convincingly in the end 4 - 2, with talismanic striker Diego Costa scoring his first hat-trick in a Chelsea shirt. Fellow new boy Loic Remy scored the fourth to complete the rout, with Jonjo Shelvey scoring a second for the Swans, but was too little too late to mount any come back. So far Mourinhos boys are looking like the team to beat with all of their new transfer signings bedding in nicely. Elsewhere Southampton thumped Newcastle 4 - 0, Sunderland salvaged a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspurs, Everton were 2 - 0 winners at home to West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City also registered their first league win with a superb second-half goal from Leonardo Ulloa, who scored his third goal of the campaign and gave Nigel Pearsons side a 1-0 win at Stoke. Crystal Palace drew a blank with Burnley as weekends only goalless game. #EPL #Great #Competition
