BBC News 29/11/13 A security alert in County Armagh is continuing into its fourth day. It is understood a beer keg has been found close to the north-south electricity interconnector pylons. On Tuesday, police issued a warning to people in the area to be vigilant and not to approach suspicious objects. It followed a telephone warning that a bomb had been left in the town. The person who made the call used a recognised codeword. A police helicopter flew over the scene on Wednesday. The Dundalk Road has been closed between Foxfield Road and the border. The pylons link the electricity grids of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Speaking on Friday morning, Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty said: The road still remains closed. The PSNI is on one side of it and the gardaí are on the other, on the Louth side of it. We dont seem to be getting anywhere with it. Were hoping that today well be rid up, because its having a serious impact, on the traders here in the town.
