BBC Ones HIGNFY, Graham Norton lead Fridays primetime ratings BBC One dominated last nights (October 25) primetime TV ratings, with Have I Got News for You and The Graham Norton Show taking more than 20% of the audience. Last nights HIGNFY, with Jo Brand as guest host and politicians Gyles Brandreth and John Prescott as panellists, pulled in 4.57 million viewers at 9pm. Citizen Khan had an audience of 2.85m (14.1%) straight after. The show, which caused controversy on its debut last year, has attracted almost 300,000 (1.6%) extra viewers week-on-week during its second run. This weeks The Graham Norton Show pulled in 3.6m (25.9%) at 10.45pm, as Hollywood giants Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer joined Jennifer Saunders and Cher on the couch. On ITV, Piers Morgans Life Stories, featuring music producer Pete Waterman, drew 3.46m (15.8%) across its standard and HD channels in the 9pm slot (+1: 172k). The hour-long show outperformed Citizen Khan in its second half-hour. However, the Friday night movie Basic Instinct, starring Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone, failed to break a million viewers, with only 584k (6.3%, +1: 39k) tuning in. Channel 4 continued to see success with Marvels Agents of SHIELD at 8.15pm, as 1.56m (7.1%) tuned in, up 200k (0.9%) from last week. A further 231k watched the comic book spin-off on Channel 4 +1. The channels Friday night comedy lineup saw a slight dip in viewers, as 1.21m (5.7%) watched 8 Out of 10 Cats (+1: 166k). New comedy Man Down, starring The Inbetweeners Greg Davies, shed 300k viewers at 1.07m (5.3%) (+1: 165k). Alan Carr: Chatty Man provided a boost at 10pm, as 1.19m (7.2%, +1: 188k) watched Carr welcome Amanda Holden, Jared Leto and Karl Pilkington to the show. BBC Two saw a strong audience for Gardeners World at 8.30pm, with 2.35m (10.5%) watching the veteran horticultural programme. Stephen Frys QI also performed well with 1.94m viewers - a 10.6% audience share. TVs 50 Greatest Magic Tricks on Channel 5 conjured up a 5.7% audience share. The special, which aired from 9pm to 10.45pm, averaged 949k viewers (+1: 48k). Over on BBC Three, the first of an Orphan Black double bill attracted 245k (1.2%) viewers, with the second episode seeing 209.8k (1.1%) tune in. The most successful multi-channel performance came from a repeat of Matt Damons The Bourne Supremacy on ITV2 at 9pm. Just over 500k (2.8%) watched the Paul Greengrass-directed second in the Bourne Trilogy.
