BC Utilities Commission, a more impartial but expert regulatory body were not allowed to do an assessment of this hydro project which is their very mandate! Note: the Feds EAA assessment in its conclusions wondered if this dam was even necessary even with BC future population growth + industrial demands increases factored-in.) Site C Clean Energy project, a proposed $7.9 billion dam seven kilometres southwest from Fort St. John, is in the public interest, Environment Minister Mary Polak and Forests Minister Steve Thomson stated today in a press release.
