BE DIFFERENT “So the men of Israel said, ‘Have you seen this man (Goliath) who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel; and it shall be that the man who kills him the king will enrich with great riches, will give him his daughter, and give his fathers house exemption from taxes in Israel.’ Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:25-26) Whatever it is that you become today, the promise of God is to make you one with a difference. David, the young shepherd boy, son of Jesse, had brought provisions for his brothers in the army. When he heard Goliath mocking the Israelites, he was furious and asked for permission to go out and fight him. David was confident that the God who had delivered him from the lion and the bear would give him victory over the giant – and God did. If you are to make a difference, you are to do what no other person has ever done. David was able to do what others werent because he spoke the Word of God over his situation. For you to do what no other person has ever done, you need to stop speaking the language of today and start speaking the language of the Bible. The language of the Bible is different from the language of today. We use the language of today for gossiping, complaining, and the like; but God uses the language of the Bible to heal, bless, and deliver us. Do not be like those of the world who speak doubt over their difficult situation but be different like David was and start speaking about the One who is fighting for you, the One who is working out the answer.
