BEWARElllll DISH NETWORK SCAM! I received a letter from dish network saying they were updating their system and I need to check to see if my unit needed to be updated too. A few days later, I get a call from Harry who didnt sound like he was American. He said he was working for a company hired by dish network to check my system to see if I needed to update. After checking my system info. he told me my unit needed to be updated. He verified everything on my dish network including my account number. He asked for a credit card to order my services. It took some time for him to prove to me he was legitimate by verifying all my information that only Dish Network would know. So, I finally gave it to him. within hours, I received an email from dish network saying my appointment was setup for Monday. Monday morning the tech show up saying, so you want to update your services. I said I was be forced to upgrade. He looked at my system and said i didnt need to update and he called dish to confirm. They confirm. My unit was fine. She transferred me to customer service and I explained what was going on and the customer service person tried to sell me the unit anyway, even after I explained how concerned I was that she showed no concern at was just happened. I insisted that she transfer me to someone where I could make a complaint. That person said I had been scammed and it was not dish network. He hung up the phone without any concern about what happened and before I was allowed to file a complaint. The tech was still here and he called and connected me with someone at dish that agreed with me that his was an inside dish scam of some kind and she transferred me to someone else. He told me he check it out and knew who it was, it was a Dish Network employee that worked in the same department of the person that just told me I had be scammed. He assured me that person would be fired and this has happened before. He also said everything the scammer told me was a lie about my bill and it would not increase and I would not have receive a refund on the $95 tech fee to update my unit like the scammer had promised. We have received 4 calls from Harry the scammer since Dish Network assured me he would take care of it and Harry would be fired. Oh, and ...Harry never inputted my credit card number into my dish account info so I assume he intended to use it later for his personal use.
