Additional heavy rain, high wind and wind gusts can bring whole trees and tree limbs down onto power lines and other electric delivery equipment, causing outages. Restoration work involving the removal of tree debris can be labor and time intensive. Additionally, sustained winds of 25 miles per hour or more make it unsafe to operate bucket trucks necessary for repairs.
