BIKE SHARE TO EXPAND TO EAST BAY: Over the last year I worked with Mayor Bates of Berkeley and other East Bay Mayors to advocate for an expansion of the Metropolitan Transportation Commissions Bike Share program. Yesterday I was able to vote at the Program Committee for a $8.5 M expansion to Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville. Approximately 60 stations with at least 750 bikes is under consideration--450 bikes in Oakland, 300 in Berkeley. The recommendation goes to the next full MTC meeting on April 23rd. Currently the program has 700 bikes in SF and the peninsula. https://bayareabikeshare/
