BJP opposes ordinance on convicted leaders, asks President not to sign it CNN-IBN | 25-Sep-2013 08:38 AM New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj has opposed the ordinance that over-ruled Supreme Court ruling that disqualified MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Parliament and Assemblies from the date of their conviction. She also asked the President not to sign the ordinance as it is unconstitutional. "Union Cabinet has approved ordinance on convicted MPs. We are opposed to this. We request the President not to sign this ordinance. The President is not obliged to sign an Ordinance that is unconstitutional," she wrote on Twitter.
