BLACK DUDE ACTING WEIRD AT CVS PHARMACY. Sounds like the beginning of a what black guys been gunned down today, but it wasnt. Think pro football fullback sized black man in black t-shirt, jeans and baseball cap skulking rapidly up and down the aisles, keeping his head below the top of the displays. I glanced around looking for the kid he was playing hide and seek with. Didnt find one. With arched eyebrows I gave him a what are you doing look and he signaled me that it was okay. He disappeared behind another aisle and a few seconds later appeared next to me. Its okay. I work here. I was skeptical. Who wears their hat at work? But he seemed harmless. Then he was gone. I continued to search for ear plugs. Just as I found them I heard the man arguing with a white man of college age. My skulker was store security and the other guy was being busted for shop lifting. I thought back to the look on his face when he saw me staring at him. Did he, like I did, flash on the young man acting silly who got shot down while cell phoning with his Mom? What a sad, crazy world we live in where acting oddly can get you killed, especially if youre a person of color.
