BLESSED ASSURANCE Melvin Andrew Galatians 6:9-10 “So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest. So then, as often as we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and especially to those who belong to our family in the faith.” (GNT) Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine. Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine. Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. Refrain: This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long. Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels, descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blest, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. Fanny Crosby became blind as an infant, but gifted with songwriting. She was inspired by Holy Spirit to write this beautiful song about confidence, trust, and faith in God in 1873. This is also faith in our brothers and sisters in God’s faith! She wrote over 8,000 Christian songs we often sing today. She never tired from doing good, nor giving up, from doing good to everyone, especially to other believers in God. She attended many denominational churches in her time, but never failed to help each one. Sometimes, it becomes overwhelming to give up and to quit. Satan will attempt to divide the household of believers. He is the father of lies, the Bible says, and will even twist Scripture, and often does. The Church, body of believers, has an awesome responsibility of outreach to the unsaved, lost, and hurting. The Church, also, has even higher responsibility to the body of believers, to help brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who are in need. Satan’s job is to divide this body of Christians. Satan’s main goal is to go against everything God has planned, done, and is about to do! Are you doing what God has specifically planned in His Word? Are we keeping this blessed assurance of “Jesus is mine.”? Are we tirelessly attempting to keep the household of faith intact to uniformly battle against Satan and his demons? Repent and receive the Spirit, In Jesus’ Name. Then join those who are battling Satan and his demons to divide the Church and trying to cause disruption, discord, and dissention. We are one CHURCH when we uniformly proclaim, “JESUS IS LORD!” We are strong with God on our side. Our battle is not with each other, but against Satan and his demons. It’s time to begin the harvest together. 2 Corinthians 9:8-11 “God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done. As one psalmist puts it, He throws caution to the winds, giving to the needy in reckless abandon, His right-living, right-giving ways never run out, never wear out. This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.” (MSG)
