BOOKS FOR ETHIOPIA! Have unused psychology textbooks lying around your dorm room? Don’t want to pack your old books and haul them home with you for the summer? We’ll send your books to Ethiopia! Ethiopia is a nation everyone has heard of but few know anything about. As it develops, Ethiopia is seeing an understandable rise in social problems like drug addiction, crime, and homelessness. Rather than relying on outsiders to solve these problems for them, Hawassa University in southern Ethiopia is expanding its psychology program. Unfortunately, this new educational program is in desperate need of one commodity that we in the American educational system take completely for granted – textbooks. In collaboration with Colorado State University, the Psychology Department and the School of International Studies at Oklahoma State University are organizing a textbook drive for the psychology program at Hawassa University. Any unwanted psychology textbooks with a publication date of 1999 or later can brought to the office of the department’s advisors (Silvia Daggy and Kevin Seymore) at: 102 North Murray Hall Books will be collected until the end of March.
