** BREAKING - SERIOUS CHILD SUICIDE ATTEMPT IN DETENTION** I am appalled that a young girl incarcerated at Wickham Point has become so depressed and sad that she has just thrown herself off a roof at Wickham Point trying to die! She is now in hospital with a fractured pelvis! What have we become in Australia that it is ok for Morrison to keep children in conditions that breach their basic human rights, all in the name of non porous borders, when thirteen times as many illegals arrive by plane and are not subject to such abuse! Why is it necessary for children to suffer so much? Medicines and medical records routinely destroyed on arrival at Christmas Island. Hearing aids destroyed. A three year old child with epileptic fits because her medicine and records were destroyed. No books, no toys, no education. A thirteen year old forced to menstruated in her undies and to have to hand wash her bloody undies in front of her dad - only 2 pairs. Only a hill of phosphate dust to play in which is why nearly all the kids are sick at Christmas Island. No space to even learn to walk! And Morrison bullies his way through the inquiry on Friday, talks of the difficulties of his moral burden, blames Greens and Labour when he could release the children immediately into the community and save a huge amount of money! Our LNP Government is perpetrating these outrages in our name!! (Or more likely because they think it is a vote winning policy to abuse children) Please help our poor sad refugees - it is a basic right to seek asylum! Please work for a decent Australia - we need a new Government that cares.
