The following is a release for IU Health Goshen Hospital: GOSHEN, Ind. Sept. 10, 2014 - IU Health Goshen Hospital is limiting visitation in some areas of the hospital due to the nationwide and local outbreak of a viral respiratory illness (Enterovirus D68). This virus tends to be more severe in children and more likely to be transmitted by them. Therefore, visitors 12 and younger are not permitted to visit the Circle of Caring Birthplace and the Pediatric Unit. Ensuring patient safety is the hospitals top priority, stated Dr. Dan Nafziger, Infectious Disease physician at IU Health Goshen. We thank you for your assistance with this restriction in our efforts to provide exceptional care to our patients. Visitors 12 and younger are allowed in all other areas of the hospital normally accessible by the public.The limitations are effective immediately and until further notice.
