BREAKING: The Brown Family Is Preparing a Plan to Ruin Officer Wilson’s Life (When one tries to destroy another human being this is a very dangerous thing. It can very often fly right back into their faces. Revenge only hurts those who plan it.) my comment After three months of reviewing mounds of physical and ballistic evidence, along with numerous accounts and testimonies from eyewitnesses, the St. Louis County grand jury decided NOT to indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown. Although he won’t face any criminal charges, Wilson still faces a very uncertain future due to the shooting. The family of Brown has repeatedly announced that they intend to further pursue legal recourse against Wilson, most likely in the form of a civil rights or wrongful death lawsuit in civil court. According to the Washington Examiner, one of the attorneys for the Brown family appeared on “Fox News Sunday” with host Chris Wallace to discuss the fallout from the grand jury decision, as well as possible plans of future litigation by the Brown family. In response to a question about a potential civil suit, Brown family attorney Daryl Parks said, “We’ll certainly give the parties involved a chance to work it out.” When pressed by Wallace to explain what he meant by that, Parks continued, “It could be a settlement. It could be a chance for litigation.” However, it should be noted that the bar for a successful civil suit is set higher than in a criminal case, as was pointed out by Officer Wilson’s attorney Neil Bruntranger, who also appeared on the Fox News program. “It’s not just that you intended to pull the trigger; it’s that you intend to deprive them of their civil rights,” said Bruntranger. The Brown family has no legal case upon which to base their planned civil suit against Wilson. The family themselves may think they can win, but the lawyers surely know that they will not. The only goal in pursuing a civil suit against Wilson is to punish him by further ruining his life with endless lawsuits and mounting legal bills. Officer Wilson’s name will be dragged through the mud by the Brown family in their civil suit, because they will portray him as a monster that brutally and purposefully sought out and murdered their son for no other reason than the fact that he was black. Of course that isn’t true, but the Brown family has had, and will continue to have, the help of a compliant and complicit media in demonizing a police officer that was simply protecting himself from bodily harm and potential death. An attorney for the Brown family has already said that they don’t care about due process for Officer Wilson, and their pursuit of a civil suit against him proves that out. They have already destroyed his good name in the public arena, forced him to resign from his chosen career, and now plan to ruin him financially. Hopefully, whatever judge ends up with the civil suit will toss it out for being baseless and malicious. It would be nice if Wilson’s attorneys file a counter-suit against the Brown family and their attorneys, for harassment and slander, and for wasting the court’s time with a frivolous lawsuit that has no legal basis.
