BRIGHTER DAY AHEAD TODAY Good morning everyone. Well after our first rainy day in a while yesterday, the news is a lot brighter today as the front that brought areas of rain yesterday moves away to the east. Expect plenty of blue sky about this morning. Some morning coastal cloudy periods about North Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast at first. This soon clears to long fine spells. Expect light winds throughout this morning. Winds tend southerly late morning or towards noon, however conditions should stay mostly fine. Some late cloudy periods developing late afternoon or early evening closer to the North Canterbury Foothills and Kaikoura Ranges with one or two showers possible there. Coastal cloud developing in most places late in the day. Temperatures today reaching around 12 -13 degrees and dropping to 5-6 degrees overnight tonight.
