BROOKLYN CITY COUNCIL REGULAR SESSION MEETING Monday, October 21, 2013 At 6:00 P.M. 138 Jackson St, Brooklyn, IA The Brooklyn City Council met in regular session on Monday, October 21, 2013, in the Municipal Building at 138 Jackson Street with Mayor Solem opening the meeting at 6:00 P.M. with Councilmen Keller, Hopwood, Taylor, Davis, and Vercande. Motion by Vercande, 2nd by Keller to approve this resolution. All Ayes, Motion carried. RESOLUTION 2013-44: RESOLUTION APPROVING MANATT’S, INC. PAY REQUEST IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,869.04 FOR ADDITIONAL WORK ON THE OLD 6 ROAD PROJECT. Motion by Hopwood, 2nd by Davis to approve this resolution. All Ayes, Motion carried. PUBLIC WORKS & GROUNDS RESOLUTION NO. 2013-42: RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR PAY REQUEST FROM MANATT’S INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,307.08 FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES TO DATE FOR THE 2013 SEALCOAT PROJECT. Motion by Davis, 2nd by Vercande to approve this resolution. All Ayes, Motion carried. Lavern reported that he had to order a new chlorine meter and a PH meter and probes for the sewer plant. He also reported that a tree in the city’s right of way needs to come down. He will get a quote from B&B Tree Services. PUBLIC SAFETY Council reviewed the Sheriff’s report for September LEGAL Fred determined the house on Mills Street can be torn down and assessed to the property. Councilman Hopwood will get a quote from Manatt’s. OTHER BUSINESS Motion by Taylor, 2nd by Vercande approving application #LE0001367 for a 12 month Class E Liquor License (LE) with Sunday sales for David L. Seaton dba Seaton’s Flag Foods at 122-A East Front Street, Brooklyn, Iowa. Expiration Date: 12/10/2014. All Ayes, Motion carried.
