BROOKSVILLE, FL - “Regina” D#1018974, Intake date 5-31-13, currently being treated for a mild case of demodex, has shown NO aggression with people or food while here at the shelter. We’ve all done it, so you can’t say that you haven’t….. it’s the reason we all do what we do…. . We all tell ourselves… don’t get too attached, don’t linger so long at the cage doors, and whatever you do….DON’T FALL IN LOVE… and every time you do … you fall in love yet again .... You stop and give the extra-long pets, maybe an additional cookie or two (with a dollop of peanut butter), you linger longer at the cage trying desperately to bring this scared and terrified animal out of its shell, army crawling across the kennel floor so as not to scare this frightened soul. You try and get them to trust you, have faith in you, to believe in you and what your trying to do…. trying to save their life…. Trying to give that animal every opportunity for a happy ending… Well I’m here to tell you that I, myself have failed… I’ve once again gotten attached, the shelter and my wonderful co-workers have once again gotten attached…..
