BROTHERLY ADVICE TO KANAWA By Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi. Please don’t fight over carcass. It was narrated by a companion who said they passed by a carcass of a sheep together with the messenger of Allah – peace be upon him- who asked them upon seeing it: “do you see this as worthless to its owner? I swear by whose hand my soul is in, this world is more despicable to Allah than this to it’s owner, if the world would have weighed the wing of a mosquito to God, He would have not given a drop of water to those that blaspheme forever”. Worldly power is like a carcass that is never fully deserved, it belongs to Allah and He gives it to whoever He so wishes. Moreover, the point I want you to contemplate is that, the emirate system is a ship wreckage. It is like the world another carcass that you should never fight over. Your blood relationship is more obliged to be the source of your bondship and mutual love than something that it virtual worthless except for the personal feel of gratification – my father or grandfather was. However the matter will end, please take the issue as the making of Allah and bring peace to Kano, hoping that those giant developmental steps taken by the Governor will crystallized in no time without hindrances from family squabbles.
