BS STORY OF THE DAY: We lost a settlement. The buyer was purchasing new construction from a builder. The contract stated that if the buyer used the builders title company AND/OR the builders lender, the builder would discount the house by $11,000. That house must be overpriced to begin with, because no way do title fees come ANYWHERE close to $11k!!! Long story short - builder sells a home and keeps all title fees in their own pocket and the buyer ends up paying more than they should. Totally a sham. Who is representing the buyer? No one.
