BUDALANGI’s ISAMBO ………………IS……………..BIGGER THAN “ LUO RAMOGI ...................... but the latter is well inculcated into every generation “ now spread to Higher learning institutions, media houses, cultural events in our neighborhood “ ……… was lesser to Nyala’s ISAMBO !!!! Isn’t a new term associated with Budalangi Pple from time immemorial our elders went about their activities in the Spirit of ISAMBO ……our culture was strong . During bereavements, Weddings, cultivation, harvesting and sports. Disasters like Famine, Floods, Wars, Diseases so forth brought out this unique trait both vividly and colorfully, the natural occurrences reminded our fore fathers as one pple and that what befall them affected them equally . Our leaders were as well strong …..Our strength spread as far as coastal Kenya; neighboring nations because our unity took us and our leaders far and wide. Up to mid 70s when traditional brews were prepared “ MUCHIBARA “ and the whole community would join in ‘ kupigia mwili pole ‘ was attributed to the unity. And upto late 80s women groups were actively involved in farming and saving together. The “ echiPARTY “ the young generation later transformed and associated with discos was initially meant for showcasing the traditions in the ISAMBO style……and at this point must applaud Hon Ababu for resurrecting our cultural spirit by intentionally calling end last year’s cultural events as “ ISAMBO CULTURAL ACTIVITIES “ …… That’s why terms like “ Wo’mutorio, Wo’kurira, We’india sahiena, Wo’Kuulu, “ so forth had been designed to worn those who went against our inherent ISAMBO spirit and in these modern days such terms are rife but with different names…..call them middle social class, elites, so forth …….were discouraged in our forefathers’ days. BUDALANGI –…………………………….A united community is not hidden even in death of their own as witnessed recently in the death of late Sen Otieno Kajwang………………… that’s how you and your leaders earn respect . LOOK AT HOW RAMOGI-SPIRIT (UNITED) OUR NEIGHBOURS………sample the following…..! Luo integration is strong and one can’t jumble with such a community even if they attack you with their usual vitriol and tribal venom or you have to accept their leader even if theirs is inferior than yours, as theirs remain visible because their unity is something to applaud them for, of-course, their sense of ONENESS and UNITY regarding any issue at any given time is strong, meaningful and admirable. It’s common comprehension that no Kenyan community is as good as marshalling their troops, to support Community-related causes like my neighbors. It’s a community who’s unity and unbreakable allegiance to its course is unquestionable. Case studies are myriad-AFC LEOPARDS has many followers on paper than GOR MAHIA but do you see it replicate any where in the streets, on the ground or thro’ sports jerseys or attires , no way! You hear instead about the team is more KK than BGM or more BSA than VIHIGA so forth ….. usual supremacy battles rending the air in everything. I can bet on these, if central Kenya formed a GEMA FOOTBAL CLUB –GFC will beat AFC all the seasons using our Wafulas, Nambasis so forth…because a house divided cannot stand! At a contrast glance, the Budalangi community comprising of some of the MOST educated, informed, progressive and critical people are so blind to disturbing levels on social and economic issues, of their people but only good at castigating any progressive thinking if it doesn’t emanate from self. Unity demands that we tread carefully when addressing pressing concerns without necessary spilling unnecessary beans to the hostile and clan/ political environment. Higher education balances thinking, acts so forth isn’t it? Case in point ours is a story of sorrows that will only render our sons and daughters helpless in the hands of other united tribes, who have taken advantage our blind “ DEMOCRACY IN BUDALANGI “. Luo land has other clueless bunch of leaders but happily living inside their erected unity umbrella ….is a super thing we could emulate and embrace to support what is ours jealously!!! …..BUDALANGI HAS PRODUCED A CAPABLE LEADER IN THIS COUNTRY ….hufungule chimoni. Hon Raila is a man who is within touching distance of 70 years not like any of our illustrious sons ….(Hon Ababu the PAC boss and SG of the largest party in East & Central Africa) and knows time is not on his side……. As much as independent Luo thinkers could have asked themselves if truly this is the time he can bring leadership that will improve the lives of Nyanza people” that means he has a serious problem accepting the image he sees every time he looks into the mirror, and “wasted years terrifies him to bewilderment and sending cold chilies inwardly “ on the surface the joy on his face is because of the unity accorded to him by a united tribe! ………ISAMBO Spirit operates on UNITY MY PPLE ……..HAPPY NEW YEAR as you contemplate……
