BUHARIS POLITICAL CRIMES!!!!! In 1984, when the military struck and toppled the corrupt Shagaris administration, the euphoria was that our nation have been saved from the vultures that were responsible for our nations arrested development.Nigeria, a country richly endowed with natural resources and high quality human capital is yet to find its rightful place among the comity of nations. A major reason that has been responsible for her socioeconomic stagnation is the phenomenon of corruption. The kernel and thrust of this piece is to ascertain how did we get here as a country? The onus , rest on the fact that political leadership and corruption were interwoven while in the Independence era, a coca cola dealership patronage, arranging for a relatives scholarship award, securing admission for a friend or helping a ward get a job where the height of corruption known until the Import Licence saga of the Dikkos and Uba Ahmed but today, ministers steals the budgeted capital for their ministries, the president have fronts and proxies milking and shaking down both foreign and local investors for bribe money thus rewarding perpetrators of these crimes with National merits awards. Buharis crime was not executing those found guilty of siphoning public funds and jailing them (rule of law) has today become the clarion call of albatross that sons and daughters of thieves have come to hang on Buharis neck because those who ought to be executed are today our nations Distinguish leaders and captains of industries. Why did Buhari like Rawlings in Ghana not execute the thieves whom their coup was supposedly against? That these crooks were jailed in terms of years ranging fromm 35-300 did not solve any problem not when Ghana is planning of exporting electricity to Nigeria with resources their politicians are too scared to steal. Buharis mistake was not executing the bastards who are our political leaders today in Nigeria.
