BUYERS BEWARE!! My step-sister saw this ad on Kilimani Mums Marketplace that was posted by a Mirara Mwangi https://facebook/mirara.mwangi?fref=ts. She had given the hubbys (a mr mwangi) tel contact 0700131976 as the number to whatsap in order to place an order. She contacted him on Wednesday evening & yester morning and they settled on a deal of 13 pairs each at Kshs 800. She sent him kshs 10,700 (300 as delivery fee) via mpesa in two installments(mpesa texts available). The shoes were to be sent yesterday via Modern coast with the 1pm bus. She asked for a waybill no at 1413hrs and it was sent at 1554hrs as 10111 via whatsap. My sister went to collect the parcel today in the morning at Modern Coast offices in Nairobi and she got several shockers. First, Modern Coast doesnt issue waybill numbers, rather they issue a reference number and a tracking code which is sent to the parcel recipient once they receive the parcel at their offices. On confronting the Mr Mwangi (mpesa registered as Henry Mwangi) he started by apologizing saying that there was a delay yesterday hence the parcel left Mombasa with the 6am bus. Modern Coast does not operate any 6am bus from Mombasa, the earliest is 7.30am. On being asked, why he gave a wrong waybill number he started by giving lame excuses that he confused it with someones else. later he became defensive and hung up. He is now mteja (line out of network). I had personally inboxed Mirara Mwangi enquiring if we can use the photos she had posted on KMM on my business page and she responded that its okay as long as we buy the sandals from them. As at now she has blocked me. Atleast be warned.....theres a conman out there!
