For those who do not know him, no one would believe that Salva Kiir was one time a Freedom Fighter himself from the way he have been behaving lately. This is a man during my years as Jesh Amer, we used to sing songs about him and the late of William Nyuon and Keribuno K. Bol and the rest of SPLA high commands. But as years goes by words started to circulate about him, especially what led to the arrest of Keribuno K. Bol. I was security a guard for my commander during the time and so where ever he goes I go. It was during our way to Nasir, after the civil broke out in Ethiopia that he told me that it Salva Kiir who was responsible for the arrest of the late Keribuno Bol. He told me that it was Salva Kiir who told the late John Garang that the late Keribuno Bol was planning a coup to overthrown him from SPLA leadership. The only reason that the late Keribuno Bol was not killed was because he well known within SPLA and was a close friend of the late William Nyuon. I will make the story short and gets to the point. The late John Garang was very intelligent person and knew the consequence if he was to killed such of person. There would no SPLA, which was known as the formable guerilla fighters movement in the continent of Africa. If Salva Kiir was a intelligent person like the late, he would have knew the consequence of trying to eliminate Riek Machar because he have become a threat to him and his leadership. I was not surprised when the so called Failed Coup attempt was announced by him. Also, I was not surprised by cowardice act that he and his guard committed in Juba against the Nuer people. He and Kuol Manyang did same thing in 1991 when Riek Machar and Lam Akol left the SPLA and formed their own faction. The difference was it was mostly Nuer officers at the time that paid the ultimate price. They feared if the officers were to defected and joined Riek Machar movement, that would make him even more stronger. The sad thing was, even those who were suspected were killed as well. They werent lying as you can see, most Nuer have defected from SPLA, with exception of those who are bribed and SPLA have become weak. I knew that South SUdan was heading for war, when Salva Kiir made Kuol Manyang the Defense Ministry. A position that he is not qualified for. He was Governor of Jonglie State and the citizens where killing themselves, so what made him qualified to become Defense Ministry of country? It didnt take long for them to try to eliminate someone who shares common hatred towards and the community which they hate as well. The good thing is that their plan did not work as they planned. If they would have succeeded in killing Riek Machar, as they planned, most of the people would have believed that on their Failed Coup attempt which turned out to be a lied. This is why I am against such of Government. It is controlled by killers and crooks and until they are replaced, we will never have peace that the citizens of South Sudan deserves.
