Back from the VA. Val Mayerik has been a huge help to me bringing supplies and such from my old place. I should have all my stuff out of there shortly. It sure is strange going from being a big strong guy 64 who towers over most people to a guy in a wheelchair who is depending on others and has to look up at people. Fortunately I dont have an ego problem or it would be a hard transition, but it is very eye opening to see how so many others have to live. People treat you differently. Many are very helpful and others try to act like you dont exist and ignore you to the point of not getting out of your way when you need to get through a hall.So far, those are in the minority. Im learning more about the world if agencies that help others and its great to see so many exist, but they all seem overworked. Its nice to see so many people working to help others in need though.
