Back in 2009, Summit County built us a new shop with funds from President Obamas Shovel Ready stimulus package. We went from a dark dank shop to one of the best shops in the state of Colorado! Then... we got privatized, my bosses were fired and we had to reapply for our jobs. Only seven out of eleven of us were rehired. What was a great job turned into an absolute nightmare. I was the last of the original Summit County mechanics to leave in February of 2013. Now in 2015, I again work in a dark, dank shop in the bowels of this crazy city but am a million times happier than I was at what became more of a concentration camp than a job. I dont miss it!
