Back in my C64 days, Psygnosis was the awesome, edgy developer whose games I was always drawn to but that I could seldom slip past my moms devil filter. Shadow of the Beast? That would be a Shadow of the -no-. Ballistix? Looks like demons playing Crossfire, so not happening. Now that I can collect the games freely without fear of punitive maternal measures, I still get giddy when I add a new Psygnosis title to my collection. From the foreboding soundtracks to the H.R.Giger-inspired visuals, they all just seem to have a wicked coolness about them that I really dig. Obliterator isnt Psygnosis best work, IMO, but it is a pretty good game. Plays sort of like a cross between Barbarian (with the controls at the bottom of the screen) and Abuse (letting you aim with the mouse). Violent, dark, and technically impressive--just like Batman. Gotta love it. :)
