Back in the office today planning and preparing for this year. Its going to be a great year for our TBC family. Making some changes to our schedule so that our families have more time to spend together. We preach and teach that family is important but then too often we fill our church schedules to a point where its all church and no play or rest. I like to see families serve together in church. I try to make that happen. However, I also like to see families take a day trip, go on vacation, do things together and make memories while they can. I have a 14 year old and a 10 year old and I still cant figure out how to raise kids! :) One thing I do know is that my kids will not grow up thinking all we ever did was church. There are fish to be caught, deer to be killed, grandparents to visit, shopping to do, rides to be ridden and pop corn to eat! Many people on Facebook like to post pictures of their families doing things together (I do the same). For those of you that want to criticize those that seem to have more money or get to do more things; Ive learned in my 14 plus years of Pastoring that people do what they want to do with what little time and money they do have. Dont blame others for your lack of planning and parenting. Let me encourage you to do more things with your family this year. Our kids are growing up fast. Dont live with regrets! BTW, we as husbands and wives arent getting any younger either! We better get out and make memories before our kids have to one day take our keys away!! Just a thought.
