Baking bread is threaupatic. The aroma of a freshly baked bread is awesome. Makes u forget the small troubles in life. First of all pls rem that for a perfect bread two things r very imp. First of all , u must weigh the ingredients correctly. It is advisable to invest in a kitchen weighing scale. Secondly the more u knead the bread , the better it comes out. Recipe: Makes 3 loafs Maida 500 gms( u could also use whole wheat flour and maida in 60:40 ratio) Sugar 30 gm Salt 7.5 gms Yeast 15 gms Olive oil 25 gms Chopped garlic - 1 whole garlic Herbs- rosemary , oregano whatever u like U could also add multigrain seeds Firstly, take some lukewarm water. The water should feel warm on the backside of ur palm. Dissolve the instant yeast in it and keep it aside. Now sieve the flours , add the dry ingredients. By this time you will see the yeast has risen and is frothy on top. Add yeast and the oil to the flour mix. Throw in the garlic and herbs. Start kneading with water. Knead and knead and knead with your palm in pulling strokes. You know your dough is done when u see its shiny and satiny to look at. Time to grease the baking tray.. Divide the dough into 300 gm balls and roll into a tube shape. Place on the greased baking tray. Give 3-4 cuts 2 inches apart and abt 1 inch deep. Cover and let it ferment. After about half an hour to 45 min , u will see that the dough has almost doubled in size. Its time to turn on the oven. Preheat the oven for 15 min at 180. Now put the tray inside and let the bread bake. As your bread bakes, the house will be filled with the aroma of garlic, herbs and everything so Italian... Bake for about 15-20 min... Till you see the top browned evenly... Take it out and brush the bread with olive oil ... And let it cool on the wire rack covered.... Ta da ...
