Barcelona star, Lionel Messi and Luis Enrique don’t seem to be getting along these days, but this behaviour is nothing new from the Argentine. Enrique just seems to be the next in line after Messi had similar problems with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gerardo Martino, David Villa and even Pep Guardiola. Enrique Dismisses Rift With Messi Messi was not solely responsible for Ibrahimovic leaving Barcelona, but the Argentine was not happy with where he had to play. Pep tried to accommodate both players, but in the end it caused the Swede and Guardiola to have a rocky relationship. The Argentine has also had his own run-ins with the man now in charge of Bayern Munich. After playing to a draw against Real Sociedad, Messi came down with a stomach bug which prevented him from training and now we have just seen a repeat of the exact same situation. He also had his spats with Tata Martino when being substituted, something Luis Enrique can also now relate to. There have been reports that people behind the scenes have also felt Messi’s wrath, as he was not happy about the sale of Cesc Fàbregas, Pintos departure or Barcelonas failure to sign his friend Sergio Agüero. There is only room for one person ruling the roost at Barcelona and Messi made sure David Villa was clear on that, even criticising him for not passing him the ball. With all the current speculation and reports, you get a feeling Messi does as he pleases with at Barcelona and for Argentina.
