Battle for Highway 82...No. 1 Mississippi State’s undefeated season will most likely end in Tuscaloosa this week against the fifth-ranked Tide. Alabama has proven to have one of the most dominant defenses in the nation this season, and it all ties back to the defensive line. Mississippi States ability to run between the tackles with Josh Robinson and on designed quarterback runs with Dak Prescott is key to their offense. Without that ability, they’re unable to thrive off the play-action pass. Even the oldest Dogs must know theres never been a bigger State game than this on. Yes, State played Ole Miss in 1941 with the SEC Championship on the line. Yes, the Bulldogs played Tennessee in the 1998 SEC Championship Game. Those werent this: National Championship, SEC Championship and Heisman Trophy implications, galore. Important to note: Should Bama, as usual, defeat State, it would by no means be the end to all State championship hopes, SEC, National, or otherwise.
