Bayelsa United have been drawn against Sewe Sports of Cote DIviore in the final qualifying round of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup. The draw took place at CAF headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday morning and it saw teams eliminated at the 1/8th round of the Orange CAF Champions League drawn against the sides progressing from the 1/8th round of the Confederation Cup. Bayelsa will play against Sewe Sports in a West African derby as sixteen teams will slug it out for the last eight spots of the 2014 Orange CAF Confederation Cup. The Restoration Boys are the only Nigerian representatives left in the competition courtesy after Warri Wolves were sent packing by CA Bizerte last weekend. Sewe Sports won the Cote d’Ivoire Ligue 1 in 2012-2013 season and were relegated from the Champions League by Congolese powerhouse TP Mazembe. The Restoration Boys will travel to Cote d’Iviore for the first leg tie scheduled for the weekend of April 18-20 with the reverse fixture billed to take place a week later at the Sapele Stadium. Richard Bubagha’s side will have to get past the Ivorians in a bid to better their first ever appearance was in 2009 where they crashed out in the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation.
