Don’t allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It’s there for your convenience, not the callers, plus its rude. Thats what voice mail is for. Don’t burn bridges. You have no idea how many times you might have to cross the same river. Dont be afraid to be spontaneous, in it lies the compass to kindness. Remember that, a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated. A person might forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel. Don’t major in minor things. Pick your battles, and dont lower your standards. Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Helen Keller, Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein. Don’t spread yourself too thin. Learn to say no politely and quickly. Create a balance in your life. Don’t use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved. Words have the power of life and death. Money can not buy what time with someone who needs you, gives. Don’t waste time grieving over past mistakes Learn from them and move on. With every mistake, we have learned a lesson. Keep the lesson, forgive yourself. Every person needs to have their moment in the sun, when they raise their arms in victory, knowing that on this day, at this hour, they were at their very best. Self satisfaction, a clean conscious, and a giving heart is the best sleeping aid. Get your priorities straight. No one ever said on his death bed, ‘Gee, if I’d only spent more time at the office’. Time spent building relationships is priceless. Dont use people, the only one missing out is...YOU! Give people a second chance, but not a third. Forgive quickly. Have enough wisdom to recognize who is trustworthy. Judge your success by the degree that you’re enjoying peace, health and love. Learn to listen before you speak. You can not hear a persons heart, if you are thinking what you are going to respond. Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly. Keep your ears sensitive to hear the the cry of someones need. Leave everything a little better than you found it. Your absence should be felt. Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation. Please dont forget, you will never please everyone, so live your life loving your neighbor as yourself. Loosen up. Relax. Except for rare life and death matters, nothing is as important as it first seems. Dont carry the responsibility of others, if you bail a lazy person once, you will have to do it again. Never cut what can be untied. Overreacting is a bad trait for leadership. Never overestimate your power to change others. Never underestimate your power to change yourself. If you dont like your environment, change it! Remember that overnight success usually takes about fifteen years. Stick with your dreams. dont be a great starter, and a lousy finisher. Remember that winners do what losers don’t want to do. Seek opportunity, not security. The security you seek in others will never be found, until you find out that it is within you. A boat in harbor is safe, but in time its bottom will rot out. You will never reach your potential while docked safely at the harbor. You were created to experience life, in abundance! Spend less time worrying who’s right, more time deciding what’s right. Hoarding riches while you watch the need of the less fortunate, its not kindness. Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life. Dont make decisions expecting to be bailed out by someone else. Success is getting what you want. Happiness is liking what you get. The importance of winning is not what we get from it, but what we become because of it. Currency was made to flow, so give as you receive. When facing a difficult task, remember that your disposition will determine the outcome. If you have decided in your mind I cant do it dont bother because...you wont. Decide I WILL and YOU SHALL!
